  • Steve "Merc" Morris All-Stars Announced By Worcester Area Football Association

    Worcester, MA --- Ten student-athletes have been named to the Steve "Merc" Morris Worcester Area Football All-Star Team in a selection by the eight Worcester sports information directors while first-year standout Tyler Asam was honored as the Defensive Rookie of the Year and head coach Brien Cullen received billing as the Coach of the Year.

    Minneapolis, MN --- Senior Cliff Oratokhai has received a nod to the D3football.com All-East region team in a vote by the regions Sports Information Directors and website staff. Oratokhai, who was recognized as a Third-Team cornerback, was one of five from the NEFC on the prestigious squad.

    Middletown, RI --- Worcester State was handed a 26-6 setback by Salve Regina this afternoon in the ECAC Division III Northwest Bowl. In WSU's first bowl game since the 2003 season, the Lancers were held to just 173 yards of total offense. They were paced by junior Bryan Narcisse who had 12 tackles, one sack and a pair of tackles for a loss.

    Manchester, NH --- Senior quarterback Tony Tokarz has been selected as this week’s New England Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 31-30 triumph over Coast Guard on Saturday. Tokarz threw for career-best 298 yards with four scores and the game-winning 48-yard TD pass early on in the fourth quarter.

    New London, CT --- Senior Tony Tokarz threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns while classmate Marcus Price added 173 yards and a score on the ground to help lead Worcester State to a 31-30 triumph over Coast Guard in NEFC Bogan Division action. Senior Kenny Russell went over the 1,000 yard mark for his career as he is now eighth on the all-time list.
