Williamstown, MA --- Led by junior Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA), the Worcester State men's golf team competed this weekend at the two-day Williams Invitational at the par 70 Taconic Country Club. Bruso carded a 145 (+5) over the course of the weekend to settle for eighth overall. Bruso finished 10 strokes off the lead of medalist Jeff Santora of Salem State.
The Lancers as a team placed 15th a very deep 16 team field. WSC also shot 10 strokes better as a team on the second day (313) than the first day (323).
Dave Urella (Worcester, MA) tied for 56th (159; +19), Chris Ellis (Charlton, MA) tied for 64th (164; +22), Mike Leveroni (Arlington, MA) notched a tie for 79th (170; +30) and Tim Howard (Dudley, MA) rounded things out with a 171 in 82nd place (+31).
Next weekend Worcester State will enter the Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College on Saturday and Sunday.
