  • Fonteix Leads Lancers at NCAA DIII East Regional

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country team travelled to Bowdoin to compete in the NCAA DIII East Regional on a rainy Saturday morning. The Lancers sent four of their runners off up to Maine to race in the blustery conditions to wrap up the season. The Lancers had a dominant showing in the morning with all four runners finishing in the top 220 runners in the New England Region.
  • Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country Finishes in 5th Place at the MASCAC Championship

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country took to the course this afternoon for the MASCAC Championship at Stanley Park. Last year the women finished in the third spot behind Westfield State and Bridgewater St, and this year saw them vying to take the championship behind the legs of first year Nina Fonteix (Elancourt, FR) and senior Erica Hanlon (Shrewsbury, MA), who finished in 10th place last year with a time of 21:15 and a spot on the All-Conference Team. After a tight race from all the runners, The Lancers closed out the MASCAC racing season in fifth place.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country took to the course this morning at the Connecticut College Invitational in a final training run for the team before switching gears to champion ship and post season races.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country took to the course today at the James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park in Westfield, MA this afternoon. The team finished 17th out of 25 teams at the race, on a brisk Saturday morning.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Cross-Country team was on the road this afternoon to Lehigh, PA to compete in the Paul Short Invitational against a stacked national competition. The team compiled a team score of 938 on the 6k course.

    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country team began their season this afternoon at the Suffolk Short Course Classic at Franklin Park. The teams raced against a collection of Division I, II and III programs from across New England.
  • Worcester State Leads the Way with 190 Student-Athletes Named to Fall/Winter 2022 MASCAC All-Academic
    Worcester, MA- A total of 1,218 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall/Winter 2022 All-Academic that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann. Worcester State led the MASCAC with 190 Student Athletes named to the Fall/Winter 2022 All-Academic Team.
  • Men's and Women's Cross Country Announces 2023 Schedule
    Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country team are pleased to announce their scheduled meets for the 2023 course schedule. Both teams are looking to come off of impressive finishes last season in their bid to a MASCAC Championship meet that will be hosted by Worcester State at the end of October. This year’s squads are filled with young talent that will be led by an impressive array of upperclassman returners that look to make their mark in DIII. “We have a young team this year, and it will be a great opportunity for the rising upperclassman to step up now that they are the leaders of the team,” says assistant coach Nicole Gaffney, “I'm looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish.”
  • Spotlight, Erica Hanlon: Full Circle Season
    Erica Hanlon, from Shrewsbury, Mass., will be leading the Worcester State University cross-country team as a senior captain this weekend when they head to the New England Regional at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. “I’m excited for it,” Hanlon told me. “I haven’t been back to the regional in Maine since my freshman year, so it’s cool to finish there. Full circle.”
