Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Lancers (4-6)(0-0) volleyball team traveled south for a showdown against the UMass-Dartmouth Corsairs (5-5)(0-1).

Graduate senior Camryn Burgio (Quincy, Mass.) enters the night leading the MASCAC in digs (158).

Sophomore Kate Stredronsky (Sea Girt, N.J.) leads the conference in blocks (26). Senior middle blocker Maeve Cadogan (Wilmington, Mass.) is currently third (22).

Conference play is yet to start at the end of the month, but Worcester State is first in the MASCAC in blocks per set (1.59), second in kills (331) and digs (505).
Highlights:
The Lancers lost the match in three straight sets to the Corsairs but showed competitiveness and determination to keep each game close throughout the night.
First-year outside hitter Beatrice Gamboa-Estrella (Simi Valley, CA) led all Lancers in points (7) and kills (7).
Camryn Burgio kept up her dig dominance as she tied UMass-Dartmouth's Emily Pogo with thirteen for the night.
Junior setter Angela Colonis (Waterford, Conn.) also tied tonight's game leader in assists (19). She finished second on the team in digs (11).
Maeve Cadogan and sophomore right-sider Cassidy D'Esposito (Medford, N.Y.) each finished with five points and kills.

The Lancers will enjoy the comforts of their own beds as they will have home-court advantage for just the second time this season on Saturday, September 23rd for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. starts. Defending 2022-2023 MASCAC champions Westfield State Owls visit for the first game as Connecticut College follows for the second.
