    Keene, NH --- Sixth seeded Worcester State dropped two games today as they lost to #2 Lesley University, 15-7, and to fifth seeded Bridgewater State, 4-1, in the loser bracket game. Sophomore Lauren Besozzi chipped in with three hits as the Lancers were eliminated from the tournament.

    At a time when most players her age were just beginning their collegiate softball careers, it looked as though Erica Cordio's days on the diamond were over. Cordio's stellar production as a member of the Leominster High School team translated into a scholarship to play for the University of Rhode Island. Before the end of her first semester in 2008, however, what had been a nagging injury turned into a severe setback as Cordio tore the ligaments in her left wrist.

    Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior southpaw Michaella Mahoney and sophomore shortstop Erica Cordio have each received a nod to the All-MASCAC second team in a vote by league coaches earlier this week. Both were instrumental in helping the Lancers reach their first MASCAC Tournament since 2004 and earn their first winning season since 2002.

Sophomore Erica Cordio crossed the plate in a come-from-behind 4-3 triumph for the Lancers in the first game before the Bears used a six-run fourth frame to defeat WSC 10-3 in the nightcap.
